President's Message

I am very excited to take this new role, as president of our NHRA Rochester Affiliate.  I realize I have big shoes to fill. ..following in the footsteps of my friend, and professional colleague Rosemarie Kesselring.  We have had great success, as an affiliate, this past year. I plan to continue on the same path, keeping a line of sight on our current and future member needs.  Last year we held a strategic planning meeting to identify the vital opportunities for our Affiliate.  We identified four major categories:

• Membership growth and retention
• Brand recognition
• Professional development offerings
• Member benefits

July marks the commencement of our new fiscal year.  Similar to your respective organizations, our new Board will meet, define new goals (aligning to the aforementioned 4 key strategic categories), establish success measures, and monitor these goals throughout the year (tweaking along the way if needed). 

As HR Professionals we realize how important it is to remain in the forefront of the ever changing HR profession we have chosen.  I assure you our wheels are already in motion . . we will bring a blend of diverse programs offerings to you this upcoming year.  We will continue with our breakfast meeting (2nd Tues of each month) as well as a sprinkling of other program offerings to reach those individuals who may be unavailable in the morning.  Additionally, we have begun to strategize ways to partner with a few of our local colleges.  We would like to offer a scholarship and mentoring for HR students.  Just to name a few . . .

New benefits from our National organization are on the horizon as well as a new website design.  As you can see, we have many ideas for an exciting new year.  I hope you will continue to take advantage of all we have to offer.  We hope to see more of you this upcoming year, whether you are interested in social networking (connecting), monthly professional development (excel), or taking a new challenge . . volunteer on a committee (leading).  We believe we have the connection that is right for you.

Our success is dependent upon meeting the needs of our members and non-members.  If you have comments or questions as to how NHRA can assist you, please contact me, or any of the BOD members.  We have a diverse and extremely talented board that is ready to share information about NHRA with you.  On behalf of the NHRA Rochester Affiliate’s new BOD we challenge you to experience the difference with us  . . you won’t be disappointed.
