About NHRA-Ventura County

The Ventura County Affiliate, NHRA 2006-2007 Affiliate of the Year, is a vibrant and growing organization that strives to advance the Human Resources profession by providing its members a supportive environment for professional growth and development.   As a volunteer led organization, there are numerous opportunities for leadership development through active participation on our affiliate and/or national Boards, as well as numerous committee seats.

Our monthly meetings provide an excellent forum for an interactive exchange of information and ideas in support of building strong business acumen and keeping abreast of current and future trends in human resources. We invite you to mark your calendars and join us for our monthly breakfast meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 7:00AM - 9:00AM (unless otherwise noted) at our new location - the Los Robles Golf Course Events Center, located at Moorpark Road and the 101 Freeway in Thousand Oaks. Membership
Membership in the National Human Resources Association Ventura County Affiliate shall be open to individuals who have at least two years work experience in an occupation or major responsibility in the field of human resources management, human resources or industrial relations or whose responsibility is in those occupational sectors which contribute directly to the professional development and interest of those in human resources.

Membership in the National Human Resources Association is granted by each location or by the National Human Resources Association Executive Committee without regard to gender, race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability or sexual orientation.

New Members (Includes a one-time $25 application fee)
* Regular Member: $155
* Corporate Member: $375
* Student Member: $50 (application fee does not apply)

Renewing Members (Payable on the anniversary of the effective date ofmembership)
• Regular Member: $130
• Corporate Member: $350
• Student Member: $50

Monthly Job Bank Listing – Free for members only.

Mentorship Program – keep your career in high gear with just a little help from your friends.

HR Certification Program Scholarships – one or two scholarships will be provided during our fiscal year of up to $500 for costs associated with SPHR or PHR certification.

Monthly Legal Update

Professional Development Seminars – programs geared toward the Director/Manager level professional also provide information that allows our junior practitioners to stretch and grow.

Membership Database – access to a database that includes name, company, industry, member’s field(s) of expertise, years of experience, and much more. An excellent resource and networking pool.

Community Service/Special Event – Our December annual Gala Reception is a Fundraiser to raise scholarship funds for graduating high school seniors majoring in Human Resources or Business.

Hospitality – our Affiliate has a reputation as a comfortable, hospitable, professional and caring organization in which to obtain personal and professional value.
