Benefits Specialist – Watsonville CA

The Benefits Specialist promotes company benefits for division employees and provides benefits administration support. Ensures the value of the benefit packet is realized. The position administers leave of absences and processes ADA accommodations in accordance with federal and state regulations for district field personnel.
Essential Functions: Administer benefits for field employees including obtaining necessary enrollment documents, processing changes, and withdrawals from plans. Provide outstanding and timely customer service to our field employees on an on-going basis. Act as a liaison with benefits carriers to assist with resolving benefits items such as claims, COBRA, 401 k and eligibility issues. Provide explanation of benefits to employees via telephone and onsite meetings. Properly and promptly file all documents in employee files. Conduct periodical audits as needed to ensure data accuracy and compliance. Oversee and conduct outreach efforts at field level to ensure employees are aware of our benefits program Leave of Absence administration and audit same.

Skills Required:

  • 2+ years benefits experience
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual SpanishMinimum 2 Years related HR experience in administrating benefits
  • Valid State Drivers license for local site visits

Skills Preferred:

  • Oracle HRIS
  • HR Certification Degree
