Manager, Human Resources

As part of the HR & Administration team supporting the nationwide operations of a multi-national, multi-cultural organization with several distinct business units, addresses complex organizational challenges by providing HR leadership in support of business goals.

• Engage in the full range of HR operations requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, and integrating HR strategies, including in a shared services arrangement.
• Deliver core HR services including recruiting, employee relations, employee health/safety, employee learning/development and HR legal/regulatory compliance.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to employees and management related to policy, performance, pay practices, performance management, collective bargaining agreements and labor law.
• Consult with management to provide guidance, training and support in the areas of strategic human resource management, employment law compliance, employee relations, organizational development, workers’ compensation.
• Direct all aspects of employee relations, including employees represented by a collective bargaining agreement, to ensure the uniform and equitable application of the organization’s policies and practices.

• Thorough understanding of HR principles and practices, including employment law and regulations.
• Knowledge of FLSA, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and other state, federal regulations.
• Demonstrated experience building relationships and a culture of trust – becoming a trusted advisor to managers and employees.
• Ability and willingness to enthusiastically “roll up sleeves” and perform hands-on including administrative work, as needed.
• Ability to write, develop and deliver successful presentations and facilitate training to all levels of an organization.
• Strong interpersonal and consulting skills.
• Experience coaching and influencing managers and senior executives.
• 10+ years of previous directly related job experience required
• 5+ years of previous management experience required.
• PC experience with advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel and HRM/HRIS systems.
• College degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Additional operations or business experience outside of HR helpful.
