HR Coordinator with the Buffalo Sabres

Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator assists with the administration of human resources processes and is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks including but not exclusive to data entry, record keeping, file maintenance and employee relations.  This role will also have a large focus on HRIS data entry/tracking, leave management, benefits, audits, and invoice management.

Duties & Responsibilities

Drives employee culture by providing an excellent experience for our team members and maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Establishes and maintains relationships with managers and employees
Responsible for high level of data accuracy with HRIS data entry including, but not limited to, leave of absences, new hires, terminations, status changes.
Distributes and tracks new hockey player paperwork.
Responsible for creating leave of absence packets, tracking leaves and managing medical files
Assist in processing Workers Compensation claims
Familiar with benefit options for all employees across all entities
Manage benefit/vendor invoices
Regularly performs audits on benefits, compliance trainings, 401k and more
Coordinates and administers onboarding process and orientations for new hires and ensures compliance
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance for various mandatory trainings and I-9 verifications
Assists with Health & Wellness Initiatives
Completes employment verifications and unemployment documentation
Assists in recruitment efforts by posting open positions, scheduling interviews, completing references, participating in on- site job fairs, screening entry level candidates, etc.
Other duties/projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications for the Position:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field with 2-3 years direct human resources experience OR 5 years direct human resources experience
Working knowledge of NYS and Federal Leave Regulations, Guidelines and Compliance
Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
HRIS experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) preferred
PHR preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
