HR Generalist

Career Description

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee and benefits information in the HR system by processing all status changes, leave of absence, salary changes, garnishments, terminations, and withholding requests immediately upon notification by the employee
• Manage leave and paid time off programs (vacation, bereavement, sick, and leave of absence)
• Participate in the planning and execution of employee functions and events
• Execute and create new employee training programs
• Support and coach management/supervisors on employee relations issues
• Assist with compensation and benefits planning and administration including coordination of annual open enrollment, changes in benefits coverage, and account reconciliation with benefit providers
• Assist in the development of personnel policies and procedures and maintain employee handbooks
• Manage all unemployment, garnishment, and workers compensation claims, and support the visa application process
• ACA and EEOC fillings
• Coordinate COBRA and other benefits for terminated employees
• Perform other HR duties as assigned by HR Manager
• Implement and then provide ongoing support for an employee recognition program by managing the program calendar, tracking and organizing nominations, and coordinating communications 
• Collaborate with the HR team for the execution of several new HR initiatives
• Provide support for employee engagement activities to foster a culture of inclusiveness (e.g., surveys on employee satisfaction, etc.)
• Work with Operations and Finance departments as needed

Career Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Communications, or related field
• 5+ years in a similar HR Generalist position
• Experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration, HR Compliance, HR Policy & Procedures, Labor Law, Employee Relations, Recruiting, Performance Management, Coaching, Benefits Coordination, Health Insurance, Interviewing, Compensation, Personnel File Maintenance
• Versed in all CA leave policies, CAOSHA
• Global Merger and Acquisition experience
• Compensation leveling experience
• ACA and EEOC filings
• Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
