HR Representative

Objectives:

The HR Representative will serve as a key business partner to local leadership and ensure that the organization selects, develops, energizes and values our people. The position will focus on employee relations, recruitment/staffing, learning and development, employee engagement, compensation and performance management responsibilities. This role will be responsible for providing first-line support and administering human resources policies and programs in generalist areas to ensure compliance with state & federal laws.

Responsibilities:

Employee Relations:

Provides front-line support and serves as a point of contact for employees and/or supervisors on HR related issues and for policy interpretation and application.
Conducts investigations, prepares formal responses, and recommends actions. Determines when to escalate employee relations issues as appropriate.
Coaches and develops skills in managers & leaders in handling complex employee issues.
Recommends and oversees implementation of employee survey action plans.
Effectively communicates, interprets and applies HR policies and procedures; appropriately escalate policy questions/interpretation as necessary.

Recruitment and Staffing:

Partners with recruiting team to develop sourcing strategies and lead the selection/hiring/promotion processes of high performing employees.
Plans, organizes and conducts staffing activities, including updating job descriptions, and consulting with hiring managers on determination of the appropriate hiring path for new or replacement positions.
Assists in identifying external recruiting resources. Administers internal placement program to identify candidates for promotion/transfer opportunities. Ensures all hires, transfers and promotions are accomplished in accordance with EEO policies and procedures, and in line with affirmative action objectives. Makes efforts to improve candidate flow for underutilized recruiting areas per local AAP.
Conducts onboarding of all new hires and ensures timely completion of I-9, new hire notifications and processing of new hire paperwork.

Energize and Create a High Performance Culture:

Supports and coaches employees and leaders.
Ensures that the organization consistently values and recognizes employees.
Drives proactive communication at the facility, along with HR Manager – including communication for weekly tactical meeting, facilitates “All Employee Meetings” and shares pertinent information on local communication boards.

Training:

Conducts training as needed relative to Individual Development Planning, supervisor development, the staffing process, interviewing, change management and other HR programs, develops and implements creative solutions to team building and organizational effectiveness.

Compensation/Benefits:

Administers salary planning and performance management programs, reviewing changes in wages and salaries for conformance to budget and guidelines.
Ensures key talent is retained and recognized.
Communicates and administers employee benefits programs, consulting with and advising employees on eligibility, provisions and claims issues. Supports employees through the annual Open Enrollment process.

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

BA/BS or equivalent experience in HR related field

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
Ability to interact with all levels of management
Strong communication, analytical and presentation skills
Strong leadership and coaching skills
Must be extremely flexible and have the ability to manage multiple projects with a strong attention to detail and see projects through conclusion/implementation
Demonstrated ability to exhibit the highest level of professionalism in dealing with extremely sensitive and confidential company information
Ability to work independently and in cross functional teams
SPHR/PHR Certification preferred
Experience with HRIS (SAP and/or UKG preferred)
Ability to travel 1-2 times per year.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience to include: HR generalist, recruiting/staffing, program/project management and policy/process/procedure development.
