HR Specialist

Passero Associates’ Rochester Office has an outstanding career opportunity for a Human Resources Specialist to provide exceptional, value-added support to current and prospective employees. Position responsibilities encompass the full lifecycle of the recruitment process which includes sourcing a diverse slate of qualified candidates for open positions, onboarding, and executing candidate engagement activities that result in dynamic candidate and hiring manager experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform recruitment activities such as sourcing, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, conducting reference & background checks, and extending approved offers to the selected candidates
• Works closely with management to understand current and future job specifications, duties, knowledge, education, skills, and abilities required for positions
• Participate in technical and administrative interviews, when requested
• Identify proactive sourcing strategies through utilization of social media, job boards, career fairs and professional organizations
• Develop and maintain contacts and act as liaison with schools, alumni groups, outreach organizations, and other groups as necessary to meet recruiting objectives
• Identify passive talent through non-traditional methods
• Coordinate and facilitate onboarding and orientation process with new employees, creating critical touch points throughout the employees first 90 days
• Use the company’s ADP Workforce Now System, track applicant flow and new hire demographics to support the firm’s Affirmation Action Plan and to ensure accuracy in governmental reporting
• Assist in the preparation of internal communications regarding new employees
• Assist with benefit administration
• Administer employee reward and recognition programs
• Assist with service award program
• Support employee and organizational development programs
• Performs other HR related duties as required and assigned

• AAS or BS in Humans Resources, Business, or related field, or commensurate experience
• 3+ years’ recruiting experience
• Recruiting experience in Engineering, Architecture or other professional services, a plus
• Experienced with HRIS/Applicant Tracking Systems; ADP Workforce Now experience, preferred
• Must understand the full cycle of talent acquisition
• Adept with Social Media platforms

• General HR practices and procedures experience, a plus
• Benefit Administration experience, a plus
• Current knowledge of NYS and Federal employment law
• Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Motivated, self-directed, able to handle changing priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and basic PowerPoint
