TITLE: Human Resource Generalist/Legal Assistant

REPORTS TO: President


STATUS: Full Time

Job Summary: Human Resource Generalist/Legal Assistant is responsible for assisting with both human resources and legal administrative duties.


Human Resources-

Conduct employee on-boarding and help organize training & development initiatives
Assist with payroll processes
Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics
Assist in development and implementation of human resources policies
Undertake tasks around performance management
Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
Ensure compliance with labor regulations
Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates
Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practice

Legal Assistant-
Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with preparation of policies
Provide general administrative assistance, such as tracking contracts and quarterly reports
Other duties as assigned.


Education and/or experience required:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field
2-5 years human resources experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Skills and/or competencies required:

Ability to maintain confidentiality
Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
Knowledge of employment/labor laws
Effective interpersonal and people skills
Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving (both adaptive and technical) skills
Ability to compare, contrast and quality check work and keen attention to detail
Ability to work independently and with and through others to achieve desired results
Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team oriented environment
Strong ability to effectively resolve and cope with immediate conflict and/or crisis situations
Preference for working in a team environment with shared responsibilities and decision-making.
Proficient use of computers, basic office software and any other database software(s) used to track work outputs.
