The City of Taylor operates as a council-manager form of government under a home rule charter. The Human Resources department is an integral part of the City of Taylor’s management team and consists of the Director, who is currently retiring after serving five years with the City and over 35 years with municipal/local government entities, and an HR Assistant II, who has been employed by the City for 13 years.
The City of Taylor seeks a highly qualified, experienced professional, who is dedicated to public service to serve as its new Human Resources Director. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration, human resources management, or a related field and at least five years of human resources experience in a government agency. Any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered. Experience in Texas municipal government, Civil Service Chapter 143 Local Government Code, and unions or employee associations is highly desired. PHR or SPHR certification through HRCI or HRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification through SHRM is a plus.
