The City of Tucson is seeking a dynamic, people-focused, visionary leader to be the next Human Resources Director. The ideal candidate shall possess the creativity and flexibility to function effectively within the City’s environment of a dynamic high-performing organization. A strong candidate for this role must be an exceptional communicator who values the art of listening, engages in collaborative decision-making, and ensures the Human Resources team provides exceptional customer service to employees in a timely and efficient manner. The utmost integrity and discretion coupled with the ability to view issues objectively and find workable solutions is paramount. The successful candidate will be a working leader focused on strategic human capital leadership, attracting, and retaining the best people talent available, training and development, cultivating diversity and inclusion, employee relations, and developing engagement programs that illustrate the City’s commitment to the employees.

EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in Human Resources, or a related field; and seven (7) years of increasingly responsible human resource management experience that includes supervision of staff; or an equivalent combination of formal education, training and work experience that produces the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position. Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
