Part Time Human Resources Manager

As a Human Resources Manager at Black Button Distilling, you will oversee the processes and procedures for ensuring that the right people are in the right roles. This role is responsible for all aspects of human capital management including recruiting, hiring, retaining, and terminating employees. The HR Manager will manage benefit administration, performance management and employee relations and work in constant collaboration with other departments.

You will be successful in this role if you are passionate about spirits and the community, adapting to the quickly changing environment and working hard to positively impact all three.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

• Consult with managers to identify needs and qualifications for department
• Work with marketing to create and maintain a recruitment brand, attracting qualified candidates that align with the organization’s values
• Screen and interview candidates based on the Black Button culture and values, the needs of the department, and federal and state guidelines
• Perform background checks
• Wage and salary benchmarking
• Administer benefit programs including communication and required paperwork
• Mediate conflict to create positive employee relations
• Plan, Direct, and coordinate administrative functions
• Coach management on best practices for recruiting, hiring, retaining, and terminating employees
• Document, organize and maintain personnel records accurately and efficiently
• Compose and follow policies and procedures including the Black Button Distilling Employee handbook
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation and advise management on said policies
• Distribute and track company property provided to employees to include keys, technology, etc.
• Design and manage the onboarding and offboarding of associates to enhance and maintain the Black Button Distilling brand
• Define, document and work with managers on a fair and consistent progressive discipline process
• Work with management to ensure effective formal and informal performance management, including ensuring a consistent approach, maintaining a high quality of performance, and a regular cadence of communication
• Work with the management, accounting, and executive teams to build goals by job role that will drive desired behaviors and growth initiatives
• Work with the management, accounting, and executive teams to develop compensation plans that are competitive and fair, including sales commission plans that drive growth and align with the organization’s values
• Contribute to the team and be able to work with multiple departments
• Advise management and communicate clearly with peers

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 3 year of experience in an office setting required, experience in human resources preferred
• Expert prioritization skills to ensure multiple tasks, projects and deadlines are completed on time
• Positive attitude and ability to influence people and teams to meet outcomes
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all times, through written and verbal forms
• Comfort with ambiguity and change, demonstrating a calm demeanor in challenging situations
• Demonstrates the ability to collaborate with others, working well across other departments
• Must be proficient with multiple technical applications including, but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Knowledge of Paycom and Quickbooks preferred
