Recruiting Assistant

Description: The Recruiting Assistant will assist in the recruiting cycle for various positions across the firm. This position will coordinate and facilitate the firm’s onboarding process and orientation for new hires. This position will also provide general support to various functions of the HR department.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the recruiting cycle for various positions across the firm
Maintain information in the Recruiting module in the Applicant Tracking System
Draft job postings, update job descriptions, and obtain necessary approvals
Review resumes, complete phone screens, and assist with scheduling interviews
Conduct reference checks, process and review background checks
Draft new hire paperwork; distribute new hire orientation materials
Schedule new hire trainings across all offices and facilitate Rochester new hire orientations
Create and complete new hire checklist; follow-up on new employee outstanding items
Recommend and facilitate process improvements for new hire orientation experience
Assist with researching new recruitment sources as appropriate
Assist with salary benchmarking for positions as needed
Build/maintain relationships with internal customers and external recruitment agencies
Work with others in the Human Resources department to carry out essential job functions and support various department projects and programs
Enhance own professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, professional organizations and following current news feeds
Understand and comply with all applicable Firm policies, procedures, values and philosophies

Qualifications:

Associates degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience required
Minimum 3+ years of recruiting experience required; experience in a human resources department preferred
Familiarity with recruiting in a law firm environment a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent attention to detail
Knowledge of ATS and HRIS a plus
Excellent client service and listening skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to establish effective working relationships with diverse personalities throughout operational groups and various professional levels
Strong analytical skills and the ability to multi-task
Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently as well as coordinate with a team
Frequent utilization of telephone for communication
