The digital agenda that most organizations have had for some time has speedily escalated to the top of the prioritization list in recent times. In projecting and predicting the near future, digitalization can be considered one of the most pressing demands as well as an accelerator of organizational change underway in most industries. While digital transformation of organizations entails inter-relatedness of technology, data, process and change management, the success of these efforts is ultimately driven by the organization’s talent. And if HR is the talent and workplace architect in organizations, how critical it becomes to understand and strengthen HR’s role in such transformation efforts.
This session will engage the participants in a conversation around the digitalization of business and the workplace with an emphasized focus on the critical role of the HR function.

With a passion to apply systems thinking to enhance organizational effectiveness, and a goal to maximize HR’s value for the business, Ekta Vyas Ph.D. is an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist with 25 plus years of experience in various leadership and consulting roles across multiple industries.
Currently serving as the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer at UC Davis Health, and an Adjunct management faculty with SJSU Lucas College of Business, Dr. Vyas’ major feats have been transforming teams and programs in organizations to maximize the service delivery impact of HR programs and build higher credibility for HR’s partnership with business. Prior to joining UC Davis, Dr. Vyas served at Stanford Healthcare and Stanford Children’s Health for 14 years in various leadership roles. Her current portfolio also includes serving on the Board of Directors for IHRIM (International Association for HR Information Management).
With a well-rounded career as an HR executive, management faculty, and Board member, Dr. Vyas is a frequent speaker and panelist at conferences focusing on talent and performance management, strategic HR management, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership, Engagement and Culture. Her doctoral research focused on the study of leadership EI and employee engagement during transformational change. She is an elected member of SIOP (Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology), and Forbes HR Council and regularly contributes to various academic and practitioner journals.
