Helping Managers Create Psychological Safety

Employees need to feel comfortable speaking up, asking questions, and disagreeing with the way things are in order to contribute to ideas that create a successful business – though not everyone feels safe to speak up in certain work situations

In this training session, Cecilia Gorman will share insights specifically for managers to help them create team environments that look and feel like safe places to contribute. The purpose of this session is to arm HR professionals, managers, and employees of all ranks with more information around the potential blocks to psychological safety and tools that are possible to help managers build more safety on their teams.

We’ll cover the following through exercises and discussion:

About the Presenter

Cecilia Gorman

Cecilia Gorman is a veteran of the advertising industry where she spent 20+ years in production, recruiting and human resources. She presents frequently to HR audiences and brings energy and enthusiasm to the stage.

Cecilia hails from Orange County, CA, spending the bulk of her career at Y&R Advertising where she was VP, Creative Services. She led Global Creative Operations at Oakley and was head of HR and Training as VP, Organizational Leadership at Innocean USA.

Cecilia is a DISC-certified Executive Director with the John Maxwell Team and is the owner of Creative + Talent + Partners, a training consultancy that specializes in the development of new and struggling managers and the teams they lead. Her flagship program is Manager Boot Camp, a 4-module digital training experience designed exclusively for managers of all levels. She is also a co-founder of Empowership, a year-long training and mentorship program designed exclusively for women.

It’s been her mission to inspire, educate and motivate people toward their greatest potential. Recent clients include CBS, Octagon, Restaurants365, Oakley, Texas Christian University, Univision, Easterseals, Hyundai Capital, and ASICS Europe.
