Paul is a licensed Private Investigator and the President of Informed Decision Investigative & Background Information Services, Inc. Informed Decision was started over 25 years ago using the slogan “We dig up the dirt, so you don’t get hurt”. They have two divisions, Pre-employment Screening and Full Investigative with cases locally and internationally. Paul specializes in Pre-Employment Screening, all work place investigations, skip tracing/locates and surveillance (corporate and domestic); asset searches and forensic fraud issues, theft and other internal issues (as well as bug sweeps) and Personal and Business Profiles for due diligence! The firm handles several Domestic situations with people in turmoil of or from a divorce or separation. They have no geographical restrictions. He is an active member (and either past President or Vice President or on the board) of local, statewide and national PI organizations, as well as Human Resource organizations like PIHRA and NHRA, and not to forget Rotary and previously an Ambassador for the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce (Ambassador of the year for 7 years in a row!) for 17+ years.
MATTHEW A. KAUFMAN
Matt is owner and manager of The Kaufman Law Firm, a boutique employment law firm located in Westlake Village and with clients nationwide. Prior to starting his own firm, Matthew was a partner at Harris & Kaufman, a trailblazing law firm in employment law cases and wage and hour class actions. Matthew represents both employees and employers in wrongful termination cases, compensation disputes, and other employment matters. He has handled trials, appeals, and labor board hearings. Through his class action work, Matthew has received extensive experience in pre-trial procedure. Matthew has litigated numerous contract matters and business disputes as well. For several years, he has been honored on the Super Lawyers® lists.
Matthew has had numerous high-profile cases, including the Crandall v U-Haul International, Inc., overtime-pay class action. He has prosecuted and defended numerous wage and hour disputes, and courts have designated him as lead counsel in over 75 class actions. He is sought after to advise clients on complex compensation issues, such as the classification of workers as contractors, regular rate of pay, overtime-exempt, meal and rest breaks, commission and bonus plans, and compensation for pre- and post-shift activities. Matthew is well-versed in the California Labor Code, the Fair Employment and Housing Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and California Family Rights Act. He also regularly advises clients on employment agreements and non-compete and non-solicitation matters.
His pro bono activities include representing indigent people on various matters and obtaining restraining orders on behalf of victims of domestic violence. He has served as a settlement officer in the Los Angeles Superior Court’s settlement program. When he is not enjoying time with his 3 kids in Agoura Hills, Matthew watches trials on Court TV, the Law and Crime Channel, and police interrogations on YouTube. He aspires to be a triathlete.
