“Rethink How to Retain and Regain Top Talent” is intended for higher-level HR managers. It is a session of new best practices from organizations operating in 2020-2021 during the Covid-19 cautious pandemic conditions. In other words, this session is not about traditional methods. This session is not simply about staffing or retention. Examples will be shared from manufacturing, financial entities, education, healthcare, and non-profit organizations. Session topics include how to identify top talent, how to discern and plan for loyalty during the hiring process, virtual onboarding that increases employee engagement, how an employee perceives your workplace culture compared to an applicant, culture characteristics that entice online applicants, stay interviews that create career pivot decisions, stay interviews that render valuable information, how to handle a notice to quit, how to resourcefully build a win/win counteroffer, and how to regain a valuable employee who left. This is an interactive session such that participants can learn from the presenter and also from each other, depending on the size of the audience group.

- Focus in on valuable top talent with new techniques to increase loyalty.
- Improve the virtual hiring process to attract candidates most likely to be immediately engaged in the workplace.
- Understand how actual workplace culture perceived by employees may be different from espoused values and different from the workplace culture perceived by potential applicants.

- Improve exit interviews to get valuable information at the right time with avenues open for rehire.
Presenter: Evelyn Hendrix
Our presenter is a human resources professional with more than twenty years of experience in HR, providing expertise to Fortune 500 employers, government agencies, non-profit organizations, manufacturers, universities, and growing businesses. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Univ. of WI- Milwaukee before she earned a master’s degree in industrial psychology, a Master’s in Business Administration degree, and a Doctoral degree in applied organizational psychology for the industry. She trains aspiring HR professionals in the topics of employee compensation, benefits, organizational change, performance management, employee engagement, and strategic staffing. She is a HR Professor at Lindenwood University in their graduate and undergraduate programs, and also a HR Consultant. She has earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from HRCI and also the Senior Certified Professional (SCP) credential from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).
