Silicon Valley – Building an Intentional Culture in a Virtual Work World
October 11 @ 5:15 pm – 7:30 pm PT
We’ve seen a massive shift from an emphasis on in-person culture to a remote workforce, with nearly 90% of companies encouraging or requiring employees to work from home, according to a global survey by Gartner. However, so many leaders were not prepared or ready for this shift considering the suddenness and the fact that the decision was driven by a pandemic and not a planned decision by leaders. The courage and leadership by HR during these unprecedented times was called upon and has not let up. We are faced with the reality that employees are feeling less connected to their companies and job change is easier, as I heard one person share, “I stay working at the same place (my home), it’s just different people on the zoom call.”
Leaders and employees are looking to the People teams, to more than ever, drive an intentional culture that creates a sense of connectedness, belonging and that allows both its people and business to thrive.
– What are some frameworks, practices and tools that can be leveraged in a virtual world where people feel more comfortable, respected, treated like a valuable member of the team and create a sense that it’s where they belong?
– How do we optimize virtual work teams?
– What can HR be doing around this newly coined concept or phenomenon of the quiet quitters?
– Shared ideas for building a strong remote / virtual work culture.
