Description
NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator for our location in the San Mateo area. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
• Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel
• Monitors and Handles Recruitment and Onboarding with iCims
• Coordinates Family Medical Leaves and short term disability claims
• Oversees the Workers Compensation process
• Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
• Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
• Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database
• Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations

• 3+ years of experience as a Human Resources Coordinator, or the equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Strong skills in interpersonal communication, writing, and organization
• Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity
• Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation
• Strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel and HRIS system.)
• Understanding of California Employment Laws
• Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
