Vanderbilt University, located in Nashville, Tennessee, seeks a collaborative, effective, and creative leader for the newly created position of Executive Director of Compensation, Classification, and Talent Acquisition. Vanderbilt is a top 15 private research university offering a full-range of undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees.  

The Executive Director of Compensation, Classification and Talent Acquisition is a newly created position reporting directly to the CHRO, and serves as a key member of the Human Resources executive leadership team. The Executive Director will participate in introducing innovative and best-practice HR approaches at Vanderbilt. The Executive Director is responsible for delivering complex and comprehensive services related to strategic job design, compensation management, talent acquisition, compliance, and customer-service-focused thought leadership for Vanderbilt University. This position collaborates closely with critical stakeholders across campus, and will develop and design new models for delivering market-focused and competitive programs that connect and support the right talent for the institution in competitive national and local markets. In addition, the Executive Director will be responsible for building a strategic approach to recruiting and related services that enforces the university's ability to attract, hire and retain the highest quality workforce; provides leadership for legal and regulatory compliance of recruiting policies.  

Candidates should have many or all of these experiences and qualifications including a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. accounting, HR management, finance, etc.), masters degree is preferred; ten to twelve years of progressively responsible roles in human resources management and leadership in a service and quality focused team environment; compensation program management for a mid - to large-size organization, with at least 5 years of direct leadership experience in compensation management, HR business partnering, and/or talent acquisition management experience is ideal. In addition, knowledge of current trends in human resources best practices, a creative and innovative approach to solutions-driven problem solving, and demonstrated ability to foster and support university wide collaborations; higher education human resources/compensation management experience is strongly preferred; Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred.
