Description
The Human Resources Department of a growing accounting firm is seeking an organized, professional, energetic and detail-oriented human resources generalist.  The generalist selected will support the organization’s Human Resources function.
The HR Generalist must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously. This position requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner. In addition, they must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department.
Specific duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Performs professional level human resources work and carries out responsibilities in one or more functional areas, such as, staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training, retention and safety.
• Ensures that programs are carried out in accordance with company’s policies and procedures.
• May be responsible for implementing and evaluating revised human resources policies.
• Participates in compensation and benefit surveys and/or conducts wage survey within labor market to determine competitive wage rate and remain apprised of current trends.
• Proactively look for ways to improve/enhance current functions within HR. 
• Assists in delivering and developing training through Anders University
• Assist in the performance management and employee development programs.
• Maintains HR Metrics, compiles and distributes reports from databases as needed; may analyze HR functional trends to gauge performance.
• Provides employee relations support and conducts investigations as needed
• Support the office safety process as needed
• Assist in the administrations of wage and salary policies, procedures and structure
• Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
• Coordinate and communicate leave of absences with employees
• Maintains 401k administration and assists with annual audit process
• Assist with annual open enrollment communications and election process.
• Assist with salary administration programs including merit increases, promotions and year-end bonuses
• Participate in developing department goals and objectives
• Assists with university and experienced recruitment tasks as needed
• Collaborate with the Human Resource Team on the firm-wide employee performance appraisal process to ensure it functions smoothly and within timeframes, including maintenance and support of on-going processes throughout the year. 
• Assists with daily operation of the human resources group, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. Back up other HR team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors in Human Resources, Business or Related Field
• 3-4 years related work experience
• PHR Certification preferred
• Advanced computer proficiency with MS Office Suite including PowerPoint
• Operates with a “service oriented” mindset; demonstrates initiative and desire to assist others

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach for other positions in the department.
