Description
Developing executives is different from developing anyone else in your organization.  Their growth is crucial to your organization’s success and often, fully engaging them needs a higher level of sophistication.  Traditional training that is only focused on building strengths or overcoming weaknesses has not proven effective for executives.  Instead, effective executive development engages executives through various modalities such as social learning, action learning and instructor led learning that provides them with opportunities to literally practice what they’ve learned and hear from other executives within or outside of their organization.

Furthermore, research shows that executives need and want development that includes:

·         Rigorous self-critique
·         Holistic experiential and peer based learning
·         Fast, social-based information exchanges

In this session, Michael Brainard discusses how effective executive development is about blending and integrating best practices of content and delivery to accelerate an executive’s growth.  We will go on a journey to understand how using a blend of social media, peer-to-peer education, adult learning theory, and experiential learning assignments drives growth with the individual, group and organization.  All of this while bringing the organization a positive return on investment that can not only be felt financially, but has long term effects on an organization’s culture and performance.

Participants will leave this session with the following learning objectives:

·         How to create unique executive development programs
·         An understanding of how to engage executives differently
·         How to measure a return on investment of both time and money
