Description
Please join us for the NHRA - St. Louis 5th Annual Legal Update!  In partnership with the law firm Ogletree Deakins, subject matter experts will discuss the topics you have requested.

The Pay Equity Avalanche:  This program will outline the historical perspective of pay equity, as well as legal developments under the Equal Pay Act, Title VII as well as various city and state permutations.  Recent trends and traps will be explored, as well as best practices to prevent and defend against potential pay equity claims.

Conducting Defensible Investigations:  With Equal Pay and Harassment claims on the rise, this program will outline best practices for conducting a successful workplace investigation. We will discuss how bad investigatory practices are used by former employees and their counsel in the course of litigation and how proper and thorough investigations are key to the prevention and/or defense of claims

Harassment in the #MeToo Era:  This program will use the #MeToo movement as a starting point to discuss the anticipated impact of the social movement on employers, harassment prevention, and the evolving use of “Me Too” evidence in civil litigation.  The discussion will serve as a good refresher for employers on the many “pitfalls” that can lead to harassment claims, and the importance of training and having solid policies in place.
