Join us for an inspiring and empowering event, dedicated to celebrating Women in Leadership. Taking place on March 21st, this one-hour panel promises to be a dynamic and thought-provoking experience, featuring four exceptional panelists who have shattered glass ceilings and paved the way for others in their respective fields.

Our panelists, distinguished leaders from diverse industries, will share their personal journeys, challenges, and triumphs as they climbed the corporate ladder. From breaking stereotypes to fostering inclusivity, these trailblazing women will offer invaluable insights and strategies for success in the ever-evolving landscape of leadership.

Throughout the event, participants will have the opportunity to engage in a meaningful dialogue, pose questions to the panelists, and connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about advancing women in leadership roles. Whether you're a seasoned professional, an aspiring leader, or simply an advocate for equality, this event is designed to inspire, educate, and empower.

Learning Objectives:

1.     Analyze the influences and inspirations behind the leadership styles of the panelists, with a specific focus on gender comparisons, to comprehend the diverse approaches to leadership.

2.     Evaluate the importance of mentorship in leadership development, exploring how the panelists benefited from mentors and their perspectives on the mentorship model, with an emphasis on promoting mentorship programs.

3.     Examine the gender-related challenges faced by the panelists in their careers and assess the strategies employed to overcome these challenges, fostering a deeper understanding of gender dynamics in leadership.

4.     Explore the current challenges and fears experienced by the panelists, fostering awareness of the ongoing issues in leadership roles and strategies for addressing them.

5.     Engage in audience participation and questions to facilitate interactive discussions and provide a platform for the audience to gain personalized insights and advice.

6.     Investigate the resources and literature recommended by the panelists for influencing leadership styles, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.

This program is approved by SHRM and HRCI for 1.5 recertification credit hours toward aPHR™, aPHRi™, PHR®, PHRca®, SPHR®, GPHR®, PHRi™ and SPHRi™recertification through HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®) or SHRM.


About our Panelists:



Carlette Bradley, Employee Experience Manager, Univera Healthcare

In addition to being an Employee Experience Manager for Univera Healthcare, Carlette Bradley is the CEO of The Masterpiece Project, LLC; a professional and personal development consulting firm that equips purpose believers to pursue what makes them uncomfortable; the place where growth happens. She is also a published author, a certified executive coach and trainer, and also the co-founder of the G.I.R.L.S. Sport Foundation, Inc. She is an active leader in her community and at The Edison Street Community Church where she was ordained as an Elder in 2019 in Buffalo, NY. Carlette serves on many advisory boards and enjoys challenging individuals of all ages to disrupt old mindsets and to accept the truth about who they are destined to be, Masterpieces! 



Sarah Gilson, VP of Organizational Development, Catapult

Sarah Gilson has over twenty years of Organizational Development and Human Resources experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, banking, academia, and staffing. She focuses on understanding an organization’s strategic objectives to align talent best practices to help move the business forward.

Drawing on her experience as a business executive, Sarah is an expert at partnering with organizations to help them achieve their desired strategic objectives through various methods including executive program facilitation, coaching, and assessment administration and interpretation. As an executive coach, Sarah is known for her ability to see the bigger picture and to ask questions to help clients gain a deeper perspective, delivering meaningful results.

Sarah is a firm advocate for women’s leadership initiatives and is involved in mentoring and coaching female leaders, has held many leadership roundtables, and has founded a local women’s leadership group. She is also passionate about Lupus awareness and volunteers her time to that cause.


Nina Heard, Global Supply Chain Leader, General Motors

Nina S. Heard is a communications and auto manufacturing strategist with more than 28 years working in a variety of roles at General Motors Company (GM). One of her proudest career moments was in working on the team spearheading GM’s support of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Monument in Washington, D.C. Nina led PR efforts for the Chevrolet Table of Brotherhood Tour which was a kick-off to the monument’s reveal. She currently works in the Global Supply Chain department at Tonawanda Engine in Buffalo, New York, deploying strategies and processes for worldwide engine distribution.

Nina is a Co-Founder of the Evon Price Memorial Foundation in Michigan and Co-Founder of Friends for A Better Buffalo (which hosts the premier WNY event – Excellence In Education Awards). Nina currently serves as a Board Member for Northland Workforce Training Center, Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northtowns, Every Person Influences Children, the American Cancer Society Board of Advisors, and Villa Maria College President’s Advisory Council. Nina earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University, and has a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Leadership Studies. She has also taught as an Adjunct Professor.

Nina is a recipient/nominee of numerous awards, including the Buffalo Business First Power 200 – WNY’s Most Influential Women; Buffalo Business First Power 100 – Business Leaders of Color; Girl Scouts of WNY  ‘Women of Distinction’ Award, and the ATHENA Leadership Award, among others. She is a married to Terrance Heard and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.



Shannon Senger, Director of HR, DENT

Shannon Senger is the Director of Human Resources at the Dent Neurologic Institute where she is responsible for overseeing the full scope of human resources.  Shannon serves as a subject matter expert and advisor on Dent’s executive team in the areas of organizational structure, talent management, compensation, HRIS, benefits administration, employee relations, training & development and policy & procedure.  She collaborates with key leadership to form, administer, and evaluate organizational strategies and policies.

Prior to Dent, Shannon spent over 18 years in the staffing industry starting as an intern and continued her career growth to Director of Human Resources & Administration. 

Outside of work, she volunteers her time in the community and enjoys running, cycling, and hiking. She also currently serves as the Board President-Elect for the WNY National Human Resource Association and as the Board Treasurer for Hope Chest Buffalo, a not-for-profit organization that offers a unique paddling program in combination with a distinct health and fitness program for breast cancer survivors that incorporates nutrition, general exercise, and emotional support.
