Managing Challenging Employee Behaviors: Practical Tools for HR Leaders

HR leaders regularly encounter employee behaviors that are difficult to manage, often rooted in stress, conflict, or challenging personal circumstances. This practical, trauma-informed session equips HR professionals with strategies to respond effectively while maintaining appropriate boundaries, accountability, and organizational standards. Participants will learn how to distinguish between behavior that requires support and behavior that requires intervention—and how to navigate challenging interactions with greater confidence and consistency.

After this presentation, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify common drivers of challenging employee behaviors in the workplace
  • Apply practical communication and de-escalation strategies for HR leaders responding to complex or emotionally charged employee interactions
  • Determine appropriate responses to challenging employee behaviors, balancing support and compassion with clear boundaries, accountability, and organizational policies
