How Do You Know You or Another Needs a Boundary?

Consider your current situation. What makes you feel anxious?

What makes you feel free? Wonder what is the thing that causes you discomfort, frustration or anger. Feelings tell you; those are the spaces and places boundaries are needed. Noticing and naming needs within their context and teaching others is respect; this is you using your cultural intelligence for your sake & your employees.

In this Interactive Workshop, Participants will Be Able to:

    • Uncover the cultivated cultural default of minimizing human needs and how this impacts productivity and engagement in your organization.

    • Identify the stages of cultural intelligence and what blocks productive conversations.

    • Learn three tools you can use and teach to set clear boundaries and empower your employees today!

Join us on April 9, 2024, to hear from Dr. Tana M. Session, an award-winning Consultant, International Speaker, Executive-level Performance Coach, Best-selling Author, Thought Leader, and Media Contributor

    Presentation Overview:

What is Unconscious & Implicit Bias? We cannot address it if we do not know what it is or how it shows up in our decision-making. Regardless of our ethnicity, gender, nationality or social economic background, and regardless of how open-minded you may think you are; we are ALL guilty of unconscious bias. Sometimes it shows up as a fleeting thought as you pass someone on the streets, or a snap judgement you make about someone you meet for the first time. Through candid conversations, open dialogue, and real-world examples, this session will uncover the shocking truth of how Unconscious & Implicit Bias shows up in our daily decision-making and how it can impact the workplace, employees and overall productivity. Live facilitated training includes interactive activities, videos, and live Q&A throughout the session, along with follow-up resources to help continue individual learning.

    Presentation Objectives:

    • Identify real-world examples of how Unconscious & Implicit Bias has negatively impacted people's careers and lives.
    • Be able to identify strategies you can easily implement to help mitigate Unconscious & Implicit Bias in your personal and professional lives.
    • Develop the language to help address Unconscious & Implicit Bias when you witness it demonstrated by others ("Bystander Allyship").
    • Experience a positive mind-shift and view about other humans you interact with daily.

Join us via Zoom on April 24th for our first Book Club event of 2024!

All participants will be mailed a FREE copy of the selected book upon registration. Our first book selection for this year is Creating Magic by Lee Cockerell. This event is reserved for NHRA members, and we ask that you provide your address at registration so that we can send you a copy of the book we'll be discussing. If you prefer audiobook, please make sure to note that within your registration. Please register by 3/27.

    Book Synopsis:

“It’s not the magic that makes it work; it’s the way we work that makes it magic.”

The secret for creating “magic” in our careers, our organizations, and our lives is simple: outstanding leadership—the kind that inspires employees, delights customers, and achieves extraordinary business results.

No one knows more about this kind of leadership than Lee Cockerell, the man who ran
Walt Disney World® Resort operations for over a decade. And in Creating Magic, he shares the leadership principles that not only guided his own journey from a poor farm boy in Oklahoma to the head of operations for a multibillion dollar enterprise, but that also soon came to form the cultural bedrock of the world’s number one vacation destination. But as Lee demonstrates, great leadership isn’t about mastering impossibly complex management theories. We can all become outstanding leaders by following the ten practical, common sense strategies outlined in this remarkable book. As straightforward as they are profound, these leadership lessons include:
    • Everyone is important.
    • Make your people your brand.
    • Burn the free fuel: appreciation, recognition, and encouragement.
    • Give people a purpose, not just a job.
Combining surprising business wisdom with insightful and entertaining stories from Lee’s four decades on the front lines of some of the world’s best-run companies, Creating Magic

shows all of us – from small business owners to managers at every level – how to become better leaders by infusing quality, character, courage, enthusiasm, and integrity into our workplace and into our lives.
